Lewis Charles Levin, represented Pennsylvania, in 1845. The first Mormon, John Milton Berhisel, was chosen in 1851 to represent the territory of Utah. Dalip Sing Saund (D-Calif.), the first Sikh to serve in Congress, was elected in 1957.
